Planning My Party

As everyone already knows I through a large cinco de mayo party every May.  Well I am already starting to put together a list of things I would like to have at the party next year.  This year I am planning on having more projects and things for the kids to participate in.  And yes, we are still going to have the pinata!  For the adults I am planning on renting a margarita machine so we can have frozen margaritas this time.  We have always had my famous 3,2,1 margaritas but this time I want to offer frozen ones.  If anyone would like to request something special please just leave me a comment.  As for the food I want to have steak and chicken again.  Last year everyone loved the meats so why change it.  I would however like to come up with some creative deserts this time.  So if any of you have some cool deserts please drop me a note and I will put you down for the deserts.  Ok that’s it for now, I will update this page as I come up with some new ideas !!

Have We Lost Our Minds

Standing in line today at a local drug store I was listening to a young couple talking about money.  First they were talking to another older gentleman about how they can’t afford to go anywhere because the high price of gas.  They went on to say that he (they younger man) was unemployed and he was hoping to find work. He then quickly referenced that they had stopped eating out and were cooking everything at home now to save and stretch their money as far as they could.  And then it happened.  This kid walks up says “Mom can I get these”?  She took a quick look and let out a breath and said “I guess so”.  I didn’t think much of it till they got to the register and the lady behind the counter stated that she can’t believe how popular these things are and that they can not keep em in the store.  Well having two kids of my own I had to jump in and find out what they were.  “Silly bands” she said….. What?  What are they? The cashier explained they were rubber bands that come in shapes like Disney Characters, Music Notes, Palm Trees ect……  They just went through this whole speech about money and turn around and buy 20 rubber bands for $5.25, are you kidding me!

My Input On Women and Shoes

The question about why women love shoes is not that easy. One thing I have noticed in my 31 year old life, is that shoes are like baseball cards  and video games for men, they just give a feeling of fulfilling something. They feel good when they look into their closet in the morning and they see all those pairs of shoes. It gives you the feeling you have something that is an extension of yourself, a way of representing your personality. So even if men feel the love for shoes is something that we take overboard, they should stop and compare it to something they collect.  All I know is that women love shoes and can never have enough of them. Shopping and buying shoes is fun and enjoyable. Now since the internet came along buying shoes and having them fit is even easier.  For me I have always had to go and find wide width women shoes and that was a job within itself. But like everything else I do, the more I do it the better I get!  Thanks for reading now go get yourself a great looking pair of shoes !!
